The Boat and the Sea

The boat
A fragile object
On the vast majestic sea
Like two lovers
Their story
Sailing on life’s misery

The shores that knit their hearts together
Now beckons them to still

What love would last
When met with separation
If not by will
To share in pure determination…

Though distant
In the chasm breached by the vast ocean
They share each others sorrowful longings
For only in each other their love belonging…

On the shores where
Fate would have sealed
What longing hearts deserve
They part exchanging hearts
As the sea that brought them
To taste their love to hold,
Now beckons them separate…

Return to his boat to sail
And her to stand and look on shore
Farewell to love
Their story
Sails away in life’s mystery
