To try and say without the backdrop speaking

In a world where the dark
Almost always oblitirates light
As surely sour moods surface
When plans made for sunny weather
Gets thumped by clouds of gray
Depicting a near coming storm
Do we let the backdrop of our playing fields
Suppress the interior truth that we should hold?
To try and say without the backdrop speaking.

“…we are saying thank you and waving dark through it.” W.S Merwin
